what hinders me, what i’m supposed to be
Tell me the difference
between me and the deaf,
for so often i fail to hear, fail to listen
fail to understand what’s near and what’s dear
Show me the difference
between me and the dumb,
for so often i fail to say
what’s in my heart, what i should,
or even just “hey”.
Show me the difference
between me and the dead,
for so often i fail to move, fail to give
so often, i fail to live.
