The Shell Post

22 12 2007

i was employed recently.

seriously.

my friend Jordan’s uncle owns a petrol kiosk on Jalan Ah Fook (not kidding).
they needed some part-time workers on the Hari Raya Haji holiday, so i agreed to help out.

i worked as a pump attendant.

o_O

Jordan: omg, can’t believe it. A degree-holder working as a pump attendant.
Justin: ….
Justin: ..you asked for help so i help la. much better than doing nothing.
Justin: ..and it’s good experience.

i filled up tank after tanks of cars, and wiped their windscreens.

some even gave me tips.

overall, it was a fairly interesting experience.
i can now… tell you which cars have their petrol slots on which side.

i can now also… clean windscreens under 30 seconds.

yay me.

The Facebook Post

1 12 2007

If you :
1. have regular access to the internet
2. have more than one friend
3. belong to the human race
4. all of the above

you would’ve probably heard of Facebook.
or like me -

already be addicted to mindlessly messing around with it.

o_O

————————————-

facebook.com - the new addiction

It used to be myspace and Friendster™, but Facebook is the future.
Many people have started to ignore Friendster and slowly shift towards Facebook.

maybe it’s because you can tag your friends in your photos.

————————————-

friends will see their name and know that they’re inside the album

————————————-

Facebook let’s you know when people have added and tagged photos of you. And with some quick clicks, your photos are everywhere.

They even separate photos of you added by you; and photos of you added by others.

Shift your mouse over onto the person’s face in the photo, and his/her name appears.

How handy is that right, if you can’t remember her name…? ;)

———————————–

yee long lol

————————————-
but
but but

you wanna know the main reason people are soo into facebook..?
it’s simply because..

of.

the.

addictive.

applications.

yes.
Facebook has successfully lured in its millions and millions of users with its application/widgets.
these thingies, which are externally developed by Facebook users themselves, can be ‘added’ into each user’s profiles to provide HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS of time wastage.

It is hopelessly fun and ridiculously addictive.

one of my favourite applications is Fighter’s Club, which allows you to pick fights with your friends, and over the course of the fight, throw bananas, ant farms, etc. at them;

if u win fights, your street rep goes up and you get more money, which can be used to your advantage and win more fights.

that’s right.
an endless cycle of absurd clicking.

————————————-

85,271 daily active users
endless clicking which eighty five thousand people participate daily with glee.

o_O

————————————-

so with it’s millions of users, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is laughing all the way to the bank, earning a huge income from all the advertisements and endorsement deals.

i cannot imagine the amount of money he generates.

however..

jeng jeng jeng jeng
out of the blue, ever so suddenly,

Friendster is now ALSO offering applications.

-.-

————————————-

applications on friendster?! waa so impressive…………NOT.

hmmm…
looks like they want a piece of that pie.

————————————-

-.-
sigh.. i’m not gonna bother with them man.

Facebook’s the way for me.

happy birthday Ashley, Kimberly, and YeeLong
